Plateau Studio

Plateau Studio was founded in Taipei in 2019 by Jerry Chien, who arrived at fashion without a formal design background and built the label from a modest beginning of printed T-shirts and caps. The name comes from Nirvana’s cover of “Plateau” on MTV Unplugged — a song about walking toward a summit without knowing what, if anything, waits there, and having to make the walk anyway. That image became the brand’s operating premise: Plateau Studio is not simply a clothing label but a plateau where talented friends can stand and be seen. Its stated aim is to function as a cultural export for Taiwan, drawing directly from Taipei’s street culture and the textures of everyday youth life rather than from seasonal mood boards.
